Perimeter = 30 inches
Length = 3x
Width = X

P = 2L + 2W
30 = 2(3x) + 2(X)
30 = 6x + 2x
30 = 8x
30/8 = 8x/8
3 6/8 = 3 3/4 = X
X = 3.75 inches

The width is 3.75 inches and red length would be 3 times as much or 3(3.75) = 11.25 inches.
