Given the information

BD=BC

where

BD= 5x-26

BC=2x+1

then

[tex]5x-26=2x+1[/tex][tex]5x-2x=1+26[/tex][tex]3x=27[/tex][tex]x=\frac{27}{3}=9[/tex]

Since

AB= AC-BC

where

BC=2x+1

BC= 2(9)+1 = 19

AC=43

[tex]AB=43-19=24[/tex]
