What is the equation of a line that passes through (7, 8) and has a slope of -3?

y=mx+b and we are told that m, the slope, is -3 so

y=-3x+b, using point (7,8) we can now solve for b...

8=-3(7)+b

8=-21+b

b=29 so the line is:

y=-3x+29
