4x+2=6x-10

Subtract 4x from both sides, and add 10 to both sides.

12=2x

Divide by 2 on both sides.

6=x

Plug back into either of the two equations.

y=4(x)+2

y=4(6)+2

y=24+2

y=26

y=26
x=6
