The
two major UNIX system versions are the UNIX System V and the AT&T UNIX. UNIX
System V is the evolutionary outcome of a developmental project at the AT&T
Bell Laboratories. BSD UNIX is a subsidiary version, which began with an early spread
of AT&T UNIX by computer science students at the University of California
at Berkeley.
